This base in Ica is amazing. I had the opportunity to do my DTS here. I was able to experience an entirely new culture and meet wonderful people. I am so glad that God brought me here. He showed me love through the people. I am happy to say that I have a family in Ica because of YWAM Ica.
Another plus is this base is bilingual, hence I was able to learn Spanish.
I want to thank everyone at YWAM Ica for all the love and support they have shown me. 🤍 I love you all ✨🤍

Ica is a wonderful, sunny location in Peru that is in need of missionaries.
LAMA is a great base with people from many nations, including those from English-speaking countries. l find there are opportunities for all kinds of missionaries to use their gifts to further the kindgom of God, whether through farm work, cooking, youth work, small groups, children / youth or street evangelism. The base leaders, William
and Lily, are great at understanding our gifts and incorporating them into the bases's ministries so that every person choosing to serve in Ica can be effective with missionary work ano sharing the gospel. The staff help in any way they can, providing visa work, sound advice and tools that we may need. If you have a heart for people in South America, LAMA may be a good choice for you.

I was a student in the 2021 YWAM DTS in Ica. God led me last minute to join the school, and when I asked about coming William and Lily immediately jumped in and attended to so many details to make sure I could get where I needed to go! I will say it wasn't the DTS experience I expected or thought I wanted, but I wouldn't change it for anything! There are many benefits to this base. 1. It was a ministry before becoming a YWAM base,
2. so students are ministering in the community throughout the entire DTS, not just during the outreach phase. It's a smallish base which means it has a much more family-like feel! Everyone plays their part and has to pull their share of the load. 3. It's super economical as YWAM bases go! 4. It's bilingual! Awesome chance to really improve your Spanish. 5. Ica/Carmen are pretty safe, so you can get out and get to know the area, which is a lot of fun! A little more about my experience: It was incredible to see how God hand-picked the group of students in my class each for a specific purpose. Each student and staff member is a unique and crucial part of the team! I think that's something you don't see as distinctly on some of the bigger bases. Also, we got to know SO many incredible people, from the locals to other YWAMers to visiting ministries to all the people we met on outreach! I can name 100+ amazing people I met during my DTS, and I had so so many irreplaceable experiences!!! Going on outreach throughout Peru and in Ecuador was such an cool experience! If you choose to do a DTS in ICA, you will have many opportunities to minister and grow, you will be challenged and stretched and at times exhausted, but you can be sure that there are divine appointments for you, you will be somewhere your leaders care about you, and through the good and the bad you will be creating memories and connections you will cherish forever.

My son and I have been beyond blessed to have had the opportunity to call La Mission our Home for a month. Owners Lilie and William are wonderful people, that accepted us without any hesitation. Hermana Yeni and pastor Sosimo are the couple I would love to be. They work in sync, they love all the children and no matter how funny they may look, act,or dress, they are more then happy to spread the word of God in anyway.
I lived every moment I shared with the volunteer at La Mision, and also with the community overall. My son al enjoyed every moment he shared with all of his great new friends in El Carmen, Ica Peru.. If you ever get a chance, please do go visit. you will love it as much as we did!!!

In 2017, my team and I had the privilege of going on a missions trip to Peru. We wanted to be where the people are at and chose to stay at LAMA La Mision. We are so glad we did because it is located right in the heart of the community. In our short stay, we saw God work in mighty ways! La Mision shows the love of Jesus to people from all walks of life including children, men, women, and seniors.
The youth meet every week for worship, Bible study, and fellowship.Men and women meet all throughout the week for ministry opportunities. God is doing so much here!
Above all, Bill and Lilly showed great hospitality to our team. They served a group of 10 of us multiple meals every day (every day we didn't eat out that is!). They made sure we had enough sheets, blankets, and towels. The facility also had classrooms for study, conferences, and other business needs. Bill and Lilly have a BIG heart for the community and are and will continue to make a difference for the gospel. Overall, I would recommend LAMA La Mision to anyone who I serious about reaching people with the gospel.
